This Marine Layer polo surprised me in the best way. The brick red with the tan contrast on the collar and sleeves gives it personality without shouting—masculine, a little retro, and still understated. It’s a look I don’t usually pick for myself, but once I put it on I kept reaching for it. I even got a few compliments, including a “nice 70’s shirt,” which made me smile. The classic fit worked well on me—felt right through the body and easy to move in. The open Johnny collar looks sharp and keeps it relaxed, and the lightweight knit is great when it’s warm out. Overall quality feels excellent and the shirt looks and feels well made; it just has that “good brand” confidence when you wear it. A couple of small notes: fit can vary by body type—some folks mentioned snug sleeves or shoulders, and length preferences can differ. The open V of the collar doesn’t always play nicely with an undershirt. And the brick color won’t be everyone’s first choice, though it was a fun change of pace for me.
