Review Summary

This Johnston & Murphy quarter‑zip quickly became an easy go‑to for me. The rust tone looks great in person—very much a nice fall color—and the overall look hits that sweet spot: nicer than a sweatshirt but more relaxed than a sweater. I wore it on a work trip and it felt comfortable all day. The material feels high quality, and the fit (for me) was solid and easy to layer over a shirt. It’s reversible with an oatmeal side, which is a cool idea. In practice, the two sides are pretty similar, and the tag on one side made reversing a bit less seamless. I still mostly wore the rust side because it just looked better to me. Fit-wise, most of the time it felt true to size and comfortable, though I did notice (and heard from others) that fit can vary by body type—some mentioned sleeves running a bit long, and a couple people found the overall length on the shorter side. For me, it was a near‑perfect, everyday pullover that’s easy to throw on and looks put‑together without trying too hard. If you like a clean, classic quarter‑zip with great color and quality feel, this is a really solid pick.
